Almost everyone who visits Tenerife has heard of Playa de las Terrasitas.
Playa de Las Terrasitas is an artificial, light, sandy tourist beach located north of the town of Santa Cruz in Tenerife.
Playa de las Terrasitas has a breakwater that protects it from ocean currents and makes it safe for the youngest ones.
It's famous for the fact that the sand found on it was brought from the Sahara, hence its unique color, completely different from the rest of Tenerife's beaches.

Many people know this place mainly from the viewpoint (Mirador Las Terrasitas), from which we can admire this beach from above.
Playa de las Terrasitas

Playa de las Terrasitas is really long compared to other beaches in Tenerife
it's an ideal place for running, which is why you can see many people exercising there in the evenings

since it's located close to the capital, where there's a port, you can constantly see various ships

one note - on free days or holiday time, there are often masses of people there!

Santa Cruz is a big city with over 200,000 people and this is the only beach in this city.
Plus, it's also well known among tourists.
Besides that, in this part of the island the weather isn't as reliable as in the south, so when after a few cold days, the sun appears, most people want to take advantage of such a day and spend it right on the beach.
but you have to admit that this sand is exceptionally soft and pleasant! as you can see, Rysio also likes it ;)
Las Terrasitas is also famous for the beautiful palm trees growing along the entire beach.
If you're as lucky as we were to find a free space (it was a cloudy day ;) ) you can really feel like you're on some tropical islands :)
the best sand play
palm trees in the north are definitely more lush and magnificent, because it's cooler and rains more often there, you can immediately see it in the vegetation

As always, a short moment for the parents :) And here it can actually be longer, because children won't lack activities with such a big sandbox :)
finally vacation under a palm tree, right? ;)
From here you can take the winding road to find yourself at Mirador de las Terrasitas

;)

we were already there as you can see late in the evening and it had its charm
