Why is it so important to choose the right photographer for your dream photo session?
Well, precisely because it's often a dream session ;) This is not an activity we do every day, and one we don't attach much importance to.
We rarely have such sessions, so it's important to think carefully about our choice.
Because this choice will have a significant impact on whether we'll be satisfied with the session.

So how do you choose a photographer? Above all, I can't imagine going to a session with someone whose portfolio I haven't seen.
Every photographer has their own style of photo editing, specific atmosphere, and color palette.
It's not hard to guess that when we want heavily retouched photos, where every single minor skin imperfection will be removed, eyes enlarged, and silhouette slimmed, and we go to a session with a photographer who describes themselves everywhere as a lifestyle photographer who likes naturalness and doesn't interfere much with photos, we probably won't achieve the effect we want, and consequently - we'll be dissatisfied.
And you know what?
The photographer will also be dissatisfied.
Because everyone likes when their work is appreciated.
Especially such creative work as that of a photographer.
The same thing happens in reverse when we expect very realistic, natural photos full of emotions, without posing, and we go to a session with a studio photographer who works in a completely different way.
Of course, photos from a given photographer's portfolio, from their website, Instagram, etc., don't guarantee a 100% identical effect. Each session differs from one another.
There's different light, different colors in the home, different moods in children ;) But the general outline of a person's photographic style is perceptible.
Therefore, let's not decide on a photographer just because, for example, they are generally well-known or recommended by a friend.
That's important, but we must assess ourselves whether this is a style in which I see myself.

Otherwise, a wave of disappointments awaits us, both on the client's side and on the photographer's side.
That's why it's so important to choose consciously, so that you won't be dissatisfied, and the photographer won't have to do anything against themselves.
For example - a real-life situation from a photographer friend who only and exclusively does lifestyle sessions at home.
After which, when she comes to the session, clients ask with surprise: "So you don't have caps, clothes, blankets, or other decorations with you?".
The recipe?
Browse through this person's photos on Instagram, Facebook, website.
Read a few posts from this person on their pages, what do they write about, what do they do?
The 'About me' section should also tell you a lot.
Read the session terms and conditions.
And if you have doubts, just ask.
It's really worth establishing beforehand how the session will proceed.
**Getting familiar with a given photographer's offer will save both sides from disappointments!
Good luck finding the right person!**
