Do you associate newborn sessions only with studio shoots with blankets, baskets, and costumes?
Today I'll present you with a lifestyle newborn session - a natural style, without posing and artificial staging.
We met with this family at a green square, a mini-park with a beautiful view of the southern coast of Tenerife, in San Eugenio.
I know that a session with a newborn often causes stress for you - new parents.
How will we manage?
What if the baby cries?
How will we manage to coordinate the whole family so that everyone looks good in the photos?

I understand these concerns.
Really.
That's where my love for lifestyle photography comes from.
Zero posing, zero keeping the whole family motionless so that everyone has their eyes fixed on the lens, zero changing the baby several times.
The only thing that matters is you.
From the beginning of this session our assumption, as with every other, was this - be yourselves, children set the direction of the session, and I follow you.
If the baby, or older child is having a worse day, and needs to be close to mom - that's fine, I'll be somewhere on the side trying to capture that moment when the little one snuggles up to parents seeking safety.
When children have a super energetic day, and they're going wild, jumping, fooling around - that's good too!
Don't silence them, don't say STOP.
We'll have spontaneous, emotion-filled frames.
What we focus on during such sessions is you, your emotions, your closeness.
You don't need to do anything special.
As a mom, you're constantly holding the baby anyway, nursing, cuddling him or covering him with a blanket - these are all great moments that I'll capture with the camera.

Many men don't like photos.
They roll their eyes at the suggestion of a photo session ;) That's exactly why lifestyle sessions are something for them.
They don't have to DO ANYTHING there.
Just let them play with the older child.
Sometimes hug their wife and that's it!
That's really enough.
I also always try to capture sibling relationships.
But not on the basis of: You have to hug him!
Smile!
No, no, no.
I encourage the older boy, as in this case, to see what kind of skin texture the baby has, how he smells.
I ask what he likes about him.
All this generates realistic reactions.
Then I just need to be alert ;)

Lifestyle sessions have this huge advantage - they abound in emotions, are sentimental, and touching.
And here's a before and after comparison :)

Silly faces in a lifestyle session - great!

What do you think?
Does lifestyle session appeal to you? ;)
